Happy`s Drive-In in Onamia

I can't say anything bad about this place. They have great food, and prices. Ice cream they have hard or soft serve. The hard ice cream you have many to choose from. One scoop is enough for me but you still need a bowl. There is sitting outside and a small play area for children but there is a busy highway near by watch your children.

A staple in the Mille Lacs area. Fresh food, good service, and a lot of nostalgia from when we were younger!

Fun place for families with children. Traditional "drive-in" fare and both indoor and outdoor seating.

Simple Ice cream choices..but delicious! Simple is better. Kiddy rides, kids play ground and a basketball court for the older ones. Nicely thought out. We didn't order food, but the drive through was lined up and people inside and out seemed happy with their food. The chicken sandwich looked very crispy and well portioned. The staff was very friendly and they came over to help each other when the others got backed up. Team work in play. Very diverse croud of patrons. I definitely will go back.

Beautiful diner with plenty of tasty food. Burgers, sandwiches, wraps, fries, and really good ice cream. Indoor and outdoor playground. Tastes so much better than the big chains. Always worth a stop. Also the perfect excuse for an afternoon cruise with your classic car. Wide parking spaces, no door dings!

Great spot! Service was excellent! Food was suprisingly good for fast food drive thru! We stopped on our way home from our cabin and we were pleasantly surprised! I suggest stopping we did not go in to eat so can't speak to the inside cleanliness or service but drive thru was great!

Been coming here for years and the food has always been amazing and the staff is super friendly and the service is quick. We had food and also had ice cream cones. Couldnt have been any better.

We just went here d the first time. I know without a doubt we will go again. I loved that there is a drive thru, indoor seating, outdoor seating, and a nice playground outside as well. My thoughts are this place so delicious! Highly recommend the hard ice cream. The burger and onion rings were awesome too. The only thing not the best was the fries so I definitely recommend substituting onion rings for them in the baskets.

We stop there for their delicious waffle cones- my favorite ice cream is maple nut.

Terrible! Bacon was so fatty, chicken was fatty. Manager was rude when we told them about it.

Kids loved playing while we waited for our food. The food was good they brought it out hot which was a huge plus. If you got kids and need a place to eat on your way north or home I'd recommend it.

A true gem that is a destination in the fast food space. It hosts a great menu, great building and play spaces for families. Behind all of this is their awesome staff. The food and experience is always a hit and is one our kids (and the adults) look forward to when driving up 169.

Super tasty! Every time we drove by this place there was a line of 5 or more cars waiting in the drive thru. We decided to stop and see what it was all about. The food was so good! We got the Big Happy Burger basket and the cheeseburger basket. Get a side of the Secret Sauce to dip your fries in!

We will definitely be coming back. White chocolate caramel cappuccino was delicious! Our burgers, fish sandwich, salad, and fries were also amazing and all as fresh as can be. 10/10

Again... Happy's didn't disappoint.. just had the drive through going as far as we could tell..so it took a little longer.... but worth it

This was a nice ice cream shop/restaurant. The food was tasty, hot, and fresh. The restaurant was clean. The staff was friendly and even turned on the football game for everyone to watch. The kids really enjoyed both the inside and outside play equipment. Easy to get in and out of there from the highway as well.Only gripe is they cost a bit more then I expected, nothing upsetting, but I figured it'd be a few bucks less.

It's ok not the best food but it's pretty good. It's fun for kids because they have a playground in and outside.

Happy's Drive-In along US 169 just north of Onamia, MN is a nice little restaurant. They have a drive through lane and lots of selection to choose from. I had a double bacon cheeseburger basket and the spouse had the chicken strip basket. Lots of fries and burger and chicken strips were plenty big also. The food tasted good and no complaints there. The fries could have been in the fryer a bit longer, but were satisfactory. They also have a selection of shakes and ice cream stuff, that I should have tried. Oh well, next visit. I did like the fact that the location was where it is at and access to it was easy. Will definitely stop here again.

A favorite spot, for all kinds of yummy food, and great burgers!

We were hungry & saw this place on our way home to the cities. For an older establishment, it was nice & clean. It's a good comfort food place. Husband got sloppy joe's & chili. He said "it's alright". I got the turkey sub with oil (?) i don't know what kind. The teenagers working there are pleasant.We received a few stares from other customers (not the establishment's fault, it's beyond their control). We were appropriately dressed & not loud. I don't know why we got the stare down.

Always a great place to and stop and eat with my family. The name says it all. They have hard ice cream which my kids love. It's a neat place off the beaten path; I would highly recommended you stop by if you haven't had a chance as they offer that old fashioned drive in feel that has been lost in the fast food industry. They have a large assortment to choose from for food that will satisfy the majority of consumers.

We stopped at Happy 's while driving through town and I would do it again. I had a BLT. It wasn't anything fancy but it was good. Onion rings were also good. We didn't have ice cream but it looked great. The space is what makes it really special. There's a big outdoor play area with a big playground and a basketball court. There's also a very nice indoor play area with books to read. When driving with kids it can be hard to find a good place to eat and play. This is a winner!!!

Fun little place to eat right off the highway. Loved the old school feel. My kids LOVED the playground 😊

Haven't been here in 10 years, since I moved to Florida. Food is still as great!

Decent food and prices. Cold chili tho. =/
